Ah yes. Dorothy’s famous line in Jerry Maguire. I kind of felt like that yesterday. Normally, when I make an entry into my blog, I try not to toot my own horn….
I got back form lunch to find my next appointment already waiting for me at the studio. They were early, and so was I. I sat them at the conference table and we started talking about their wedding.
When I have a consultation for a wedding, I try not to talk about my style of photography. My style of photography is what brought them to me in the first place, so I don’t waste any time talking about it. What I do talk about are the elegant ways in which Solaris allows its clients to begin communicating with their images as quickly as possible after their wedding. As you might imagine I have a bit of a presentation that I go through with samples of my albums etc. I really didn’t even need to go through it all though. Their minds were made up before they got to the studio. The only thing that could have changed that would have been me during the consultation, if perhaps we all just didn’t quite mesh well.
As it turns out that their wedding date is April of 08, and they don’t even have a facility yet for either their wedding or reception! They were booking their photographer before their facility, and they chose Solaris.
I was and still am very flattered, and rather taken aback. I can’t think of a bigger complement. So I just wanted to give a shout out to my newest clients, Jessie and Michael. Thank you both for your vote of confidence and allowing me to post your story.
